How are the 370 W of PoE+ shared on this switch?
370 W shared by the 24 ports, each able to deliver up to 30 W in 802.3at. Around twenty 12 W cameras fit easily within the budget, whereas a dozen power-hungry Wi-Fi access points are enough to exhaust it. Calculate on actual consumption, never on 24 × 30 W.
What kind of management does this model offer?
A “smart” web interface: you set up VLANs, monitor ports and adjust quality of service from a browser, without a command line. It is the intermediate level between an unmanaged switch and a fully managed model.
What are the two SFP slots on this switch for?
For the fibre uplink: they take an optical module to connect this switch to the core switch or to another building, beyond the 100 metres that copper cannot exceed. Modules are chosen according to the distance and the fibre type, and are not included.
Can this switch be rack-mounted?
Yes, in a 19-inch rack, like any 24-port PoE switch: it belongs in a network rack or a wall-mount cabinet, close to the patch panel serving the cameras and access points.
What speed does each copper port reach?
1 Gbps on all 24 RJ45 ports, with PoE+ power on the same cable. This is the speed expected of an access switch: cameras, Wi-Fi access points and workstations share the fibre uplink to reach the rest of the network.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
