Frequently asked questions about this product

Are all the ports on the TL-SG1008MP powered?
Yes, all eight, with PoE+ to the 802.3at standard and a total budget of 153 W. Five 30 W motorised cameras use almost all of it; eight 15 W fixed cameras fit comfortably.
How much electrical power does this switch draw?
173.65 W maximum, including the 153 W of PoE, from a built-in power supply accepting 100 to 240 V. A simple power cord is all it needs, with no external adapter to find room for in the rack.
Can this 8-port switch be rack-mounted?
Yes: the rack-mount kit is included, for a 1U format. The casing measures 294 × 180 × 44 mm — so it takes up only part of the width of a 19-inch rack, and sits just as well on a shelf.
Can this switch be configured?
No: it is unmanaged, with no interface and no monitoring. It switches traffic and powers devices as soon as it is switched on, with auto MDI/MDI-X correcting the pinout on its own. To monitor PoE consumption port by port, you need a managed model.
What internal performance does this 8-port model offer?
16 Gbps switching capacity and a 4,000-entry MAC address table: the eight Gigabit ports can all work together at full speed, each adapting to 10, 100 or 1,000 Mbps depending on the connected device.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
