Frequently asked questions about this product

How much PoE power can this switch deliver?
130 W in total, with a maximum of 30 W per port in PoE+ (802.3at). Four motorised cameras at 30 W already use it up; eight fixed cameras at 12 W fit comfortably within the budget.
Does this switch require any configuration?
No: it is unmanaged and ready to use. Auto MDI/MDI-X corrects the pinout automatically, which rules out any cabling mistake when connecting cameras or access points.
What are the two SFP slots for?
For the long-distance fibre link: they connect the switch to the main building when the distance exceeds the reach of copper. The optical modules are chosen according to the distance and the type of fibre.
What cable is needed to power the devices?
Category 5e cable is enough to carry both data and power for IP cameras, Wi-Fi access points and VoIP phones. That is the whole point of PoE: a single cable per device, with no electrician needed.
Is this switch noisy, and where should it be installed?
No noise at all: it works without a fan, in a compact desktop format. It can go in a technical room, a storeroom or a reception area, with no noise nuisance and no filter to maintain.
What internal performance does this 10-port model offer?
20 Gbps switching capacity, i.e. wire speed on the eight copper ports and the two fibre slots. This is the sizing expected of a supplementary PoE switch for a shop or a small office.
Is the switch new, and where can I find its datasheet?
