Online UPS for servers and network racks: online double-conversion, 3000 VA / 2400 W, rack form factor. Technology & protection: power is fully regenerated, continuously — your servers are never connected directly to the mains, with no transfer time. Complete protection against power cuts, surges, voltage fluctuations and electrical noise. Power: 3000 VA for 2400 W of usable power — one or more servers. Runtime: approx. 12 minutes at half load (1200 W), 7 minutes at 70%. Outlets: 6 C13 outlets + 1 heavy-duty C19 outlet. Rack form factor for cabinet installation; active cooling (≈ 50 dB). LCD display: shows load, battery level and remaining runtime at a glance — monitor the UPS without any software. Ideal, for example, for servers or business network equipment. Remember to check how much power your equipment draws and to choose the capacity according to the runtime you need.

Frequently asked questions about this product
What does online double-conversion technology offer compared with a conventional UPS?
The power is fully and continuously regenerated: your servers are never connected directly to the mains and there is zero transfer time during a power cut. The output remains at 230 V and 50/60 Hz (± 3 Hz).
What waveform does it deliver when it switches to battery?
A sine wave, like that of the mains, with a 3:1 crest factor. It is neither a stepped (simulated) sine wave nor a square wave: on battery as on mains power, the output remains 230 V sine wave at 50/60 Hz.
How long does it actually last during a power cut?
12 minutes at 1,200 W, i.e. half its capacity, and 7 minutes at 1,680 W. On a light 600 W load, runtime rises to 31 minutes: enough to shut down servers cleanly, not to ride out a long power cut.
How long does the battery take to recharge after a power cut?
About 4 hours for a full recharge, with 118 W of charging power and a sealed lead-acid battery. If a second power cut occurs before the cycle is complete, the available runtime is reduced accordingly.
Can it be installed in an occupied office?
It is best avoided: its noise level is 50 dBA, clearly audible in a quiet room. It belongs in a technical room or a network rack — it is a 2U rack-mount UPS, designed for the rack.
What rack cabinet is needed to house this SRV3KRI?
It occupies 2U and measures 437 × 632 × 86 mm: it is the 63.2 cm depth that you need to check before ordering, as well as the available height. Make sure the rack cabinet can support its 27.6 kg.
How do you connect a device whose plug is not a server-type plug?
The outputs are IEC outlets: 6 C13 outlets and 1 C19 outlet, all battery-backed, with the input on a C20 inlet. These are the connectors used by server and rack power cords; a device with a household plug therefore needs a cord to C13.
What is in the box, and are the rack-mounting brackets included?
Yes, the rack-mounting brackets are included. The box also contains an RS-232 cable for UPS signalling, a USB cable, the software CD and the user manual.
Can the UPS be monitored from a server or a network card?
Yes: it provides a USB port and a DB-9 RS-232 port with the software supplied, and has one available management slot. Without any PC, its multifunction LCD console already displays the status, load and remaining runtime.
What happens if work needs to be done on the UPS without shutting down the servers?
It features an internal bypass, both automatic and manual: the load can be transferred directly to the mains. An audible alarm also signals each switch to battery, and a continuous alarm signals any overload.
Can it cope with an unstable power grid with frequent voltage drops?
Yes: it accepts an input of 100 to 280 V (at half load) and 40 to 70 Hz while delivering 230 V. The voltage stabiliser is built in, and it also accepts input voltages of 220 or 240 V.
How much power does it consume on top of the equipment it protects?
Its efficiency is 88% at full load: allow for about 12% losses, the price of double conversion, which continuously regenerates the power instead of letting the mains power pass through.
What standards and certifications underpin its electrical safety?
It is CE and EAC certified, built to IEC 62040-1-1 and IEC 62040-1-2 standards, RoHS compliant and covered by a REACH declaration. Its surge protection is rated at 600 joules.
Can it operate in a technical room without air conditioning?
It is rated for 0 to 40 °C, 0 to 95% non-condensing humidity and an operating altitude of up to 3,000 m. Its IP20 rating makes it an indoor device: no protection against water splashes, so install it in a dry place.
Is the UPS new and under warranty?
Yes: new and genuine APC, part number SRV3KRI, covered with its invoice by a 2-year repair or replacement warranty. Full details are in the manufacturer datasheet (PDF).
2400 W genuinely available and 13.5 minutes of battery life at half load (1200 W): time enough to save and shut down cleanly. Under 37 dB, it can stay beside the workstation it protects.
