This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.
  • If the product cannot be repaired, the brand offers an exchange for another product.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Does the 1930 8G JL680A power devices over PoE?
No: part number JL680A is the 8-port non-PoE model in the 1930 series. The JL681A, its Class 4 PoE counterpart, offers a 124 W budget. Here, each connected device must have its own power supply.
What are the two SFP slots on this model for?
They are two Gigabit SFP ports dedicated to fibre: they connect this secondary switch to the core switch or to another building, beyond the 100 metres that copper cannot exceed. Optical modules are chosen according to the distance and the fibre type.
How many VLANs can be created on this 8-port switch?
256 simultaneous VLANs, with IDs between 2 and 4093. A dedicated management VLAN restricts interface access to technicians, and the auto voice VLAN recognises IP phones to prioritise their traffic with no manual configuration.
Can this small switch route between two VLANs?
Yes, with static IPv4 routing: each VLAN is given its address, manually or via DHCP, and the switch forwards traffic from one to the other, up to 32 static entries. This is the difference between a Layer 2+ model and a basic switch.
Which IP address should you use for the first connection?
The switch starts as a DHCP client and takes the address provided by the router; with no DHCP server on the link, it takes the fixed address 192.168.1.1. The local web interface accepts up to five simultaneous HTTP or HTTPS sessions.
How many ports can be aggregated on this model?
Four link aggregation groups, of up to eight ports each, using LACP or static configuration. On a secondary switch, two ports aggregated towards the main switch are usually enough to eliminate the bottleneck.
Does this switch make any noise in an office?
None at all: the 8-port models in the 1930 series are designed without fans, rated at 0 dB. The unit measures 25.4 × 15.95 × 4.39 cm and weighs 0.82 kg, and operates from 0 to 40 °C at altitudes of up to 3 km.
What security rules can be applied on this switch?
Up to 50 ingress IPv4 and MAC access control lists, totalling 480 rules, complemented by 802.1X authentication with RADIUS-assigned VLANs, the per-port allow list, DHCP snooping and dynamic ARP protection.
Is a subscription needed to manage this switch?
No: all features are included in the price of the hardware, with no licence or subscription. Management is done through the Instant On mobile app, the cloud portal or the local web interface, the latter requiring no internet access.
What internal performance does this 8-port model offer?
20 Gbps of switching capacity and 14.88 Mpps, with a table of 8,000 MAC addresses and latency below 3 µs at Gigabit. Jumbo frames go up to 9,216 bytes to speed up transfers to a NAS.
