How many network sockets does the EAP655-Wall provide?
Three Gigabit Ethernet ports in addition to the uplink port that connects it to the network: a desktop PC, a TV and a phone can be plugged directly into the wall plate, without running extra cables back to the rack.
What power supply do you need for the EAP655-Wall?
802.3af or 802.3at PoE, for a typical consumption of 12 W. A DC input is also available on the unit: a single network cable is enough in most installations.
What throughput does the EAP655-Wall deliver?
2,402 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, i.e. the AX3000 class of Wi-Fi 6. That is a rare data rate in a wall-plate format, backed by two 5 dBi internal antennas and beamforming.
How many users can the EAP655-Wall handle?
100 users. That is well beyond the needs of a single room: the headroom is useful in a shared office or a meeting room equipped with a single wall plate.
Does the EAP655-Wall support WPA3 and server-based authentication?
Yes, with WPA3-Enterprise, WPA2-Enterprise and WPA-Enterprise, and support for a RADIUS server. MAC address filtering, IP address filtering and access control lists complete the setup.
How many Wi-Fi networks can you create on the EAP655-Wall?
16 SSIDs, with VLAN segmentation, rate limiting and client isolation. Each room or department can thus have its own network, separate from the staff network.
Does the EAP655-Wall distribute devices between its two bands?
Yes, band steering directs compatible devices to the 5 GHz band, airtime fairness prevents a slow device from slowing down the others, and the channel is selected automatically at power-up.
Can the EAP655-Wall be secured against theft?
No, it has no slot for an anti-theft cable lock — its wall mounting on a back box serves that purpose. A reset button and status LEDs remain accessible on the front.
What monitoring tools does the EAP655-Wall offer?
HTTPS web access, SSH, SNMP v1, v2c and v3 and a system log. The Omada controller then centralises the configuration of all your equipment, both locally and from the cloud.
Is the equipment new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document for 1 year. The access point is managed from the Omada platform alongside the range's switches and gateways.
