Yes, its housing is rated IP66 — dust-tight and protected against water jets — provided it is installed vertically. It operates from -30 to +70 °C, at 5 to 95% non-condensing humidity.
Are the GWN7605LR's antennas replaceable?
Yes, its two 3.5 dBi dual-band external antennas are detachable and can be swapped. This is the advantage of a long-range model: you replace the omnidirectional antennas with directional ones to cover an aisle, a loading dock or a car park rather than the whole area around the pole.
How far does the GWN7605LR's signal reach?
Up to 250 metres in open space. This range drops as soon as a wall, a line of trees or a building gets in the way: it is useful for comparing models, not for sizing an installation without an on-site survey.
Is a basic PoE switch enough for the GWN7605LR?
Yes: its power consumption peaks at 10.16 W, well below the 15.4 W of an 802.3af port. The access point detects on its own whether it is connected to PoE or PoE+ and adjusts its power accordingly, with no configuration on your part.
How many devices does this outdoor access point serve?

On a wall or a metal pole, with the kits supplied. The housing is elongated — 358.3 × 115 × 45.3 mm for 500 g — and is installed high up, facing the area to be covered.
Do you need a hardware controller to manage several GWN7605LR units?
No. A controller is built into the web interface of the access point and manages up to 50 access points of the GWN series locally, with no licence. GWN.Cloud manages an unlimited number of devices free of charge from a web browser or a mobile app.
How many Wi-Fi networks can you broadcast outdoors with this access point?
16 SSIDs in total, 8 per band, with 802.1Q VLAN tagging, 802.1x authentication and a captive portal for visitors. Enough to open public access without exposing the internal network.
What encryption does the GWN7605LR support?
WPA2-PSK, WPA/WPA2 Enterprise with TKIP or AES, and WPA3. The hardware boots on digitally signed firmware, with locking of critical data and commands.
What is the second Ethernet port on the GWN7605LR for?
Both ports are auto-sensing 10/100/1000 Mbps: the first connects the access point to the network and receives PoE, the second serves a wired device installed at the same point — a camera or nearby equipment, to be connected to its own power supply.
Can you cover a remote area without running a cable to it?
Yes, GWN access points form a mesh network: a remote access point connects wirelessly to the cabled one, which avoids digging a trench. It must, however, have its own PoE power on site, and fast roaming ensures continuity between access points.
Is the equipment new and covered by a warranty?
