Product overview
A high-end, high-power online UPS for server rooms: online double conversion, 6000 VA / 5400 W. Technology & protection: power is fully and continuously regenerated — your equipment never touches the mains, with no transfer time. Maximum protection against outages, surges, voltage fluctuations and electrical noise. Power: 6000 VA for 5400 W of real power — enough to run several servers and network equipment. Ports: terminal block connection (hard-wired by an electrician). Pure sine wave; best installed in a technical room. Designed, for example, for server racks or critical business infrastructure. LCD display: shows load, battery level and remaining runtime at a glance — so you can monitor the UPS without any software. Remember to check how much power your equipment draws and to choose the rating according to the runtime you need.

Frequently asked questions about this product
Does the 9SX 6000i connect via outlets or a terminal block?
Via a terminal block: it is a fixed, hardwired connection with no plug, to be carried out by an electrician. A dedicated circuit must be prepared at the distribution board before commissioning — this is the step to plan for as early as possible.
Does this 6 kVA unit deliver 5400 W of usable power?
Yes: 5400 W for 6000 VA, i.e. a power factor of 0.9. It is this wattage figure that you should compare with the combined consumption of your servers, never the apparent power shown in the product name.
Can the batteries of the 9SX 6000i be replaced without shutting down the servers?
Yes: both the internal batteries and the external modules are hot-swappable. Charging uses either the ABM method or temperature-compensated charging, as you choose, with automatic battery testing.
Can the runtime of the 9SX 6000i be extended?
Yes, with external battery modules. This is the intended way to go from a few minutes to a considerably longer runtime, without changing the UPS.
What voltage and frequency range does the 9SX 6000i accept?
From 176 to 276 V, at a nominal frequency of 50/60 Hz with an input range of 40 to 70 Hz. The output can be set to 200, 208, 220, 230 or 240 V, depending on the voltage your equipment expects.
How do you monitor the 9SX 6000i and shut down the servers cleanly?
Through an HID-compatible USB port, an RS-232 serial port, a remote power-off mini terminal block, a relay terminal block and dry contacts (two outputs, one input, on DB9). The Eaton IPM and IPP software handles automatic shutdown.
Does power keep flowing if the UPS develops a fault?
Yes, an internal bypass keeps the equipment powered. The output is also a sine wave, and the unit shows its status on a multilingual graphical LCD screen.
Where should the 9SX 6000i be installed, and how much does it weigh?
65.5 kg in tower format, with a noise level of less than 46 dB at one metre and an efficiency of 94%. At this weight, it takes several people to handle it, and the unit sits on the floor in a technical room.
Is the Eaton 9SX 6000i (9SX6KI) new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. A slot for a network communication card is provided, which can be fitted as an option to monitor the UPS remotely.
Three reinforced 16 A outlets for power-hungry hardware, eight server outlets, and batteries that are changed without cutting the power. Under 40 dB at one metre, in a rack as in a tower.
•8 C13 outlets: the format of computer and server power cords
•3 C19 outlets: reinforced 16 A outlets for power-hungry equipment
•Terminal block input: fixed wiring, to be installed by an electrician
A free-standing tower on castors, with an LCD screen showing the load, the battery status and the voltages. Around 16 minutes of runtime at half load, extendable with up to four battery cabinets.
•Around 16 minutes of runtime at half load
•Runtime extendable with one to four external battery cabinets
All the power available in watts: 10,000 W usable, as many as the VA. Around 7 minutes of runtime at half load (5000 W) to shut down a full rack cleanly, in only 4U.
