The Aruba CX 6300M is an all-fibre L3 data-centre switch, built for aggregation and Top-of-Rack deployments that demand ultra-fast switching and full routing, without PoE. 24 SFP+ 1/10 GbE ports for servers and high-density equipment; 4 SFP56 1/10/25/50 GbE ports for ultra-fast uplinks to aggregation nodes or the network core. No copper RJ45 ports. Full L3 on AOS-CX: BGP, OSPF, EVPN, VXLAN, VRF, ACL, QoS — suited to overlay network architectures and multi-tenant deployments. Frequently asked questions about this product
Are the power supply modules included with this switch?
No: they are ordered separately. The chassis takes one or two 250 W modules (part numbers JL085A or JL757A), and at least one is needed for it to run. The fan trays, however, are included, as are the mounting kits.
Are optical modules included with the switch?
No: the 24 SFP+ slots and 4 SFP56 slots come empty. You will need up to 24 modules at 100M, 1G or 10G and up to 4 modules at 1, 10, 25 or 50G, depending on the links to be set up.
What is special about the four SFP56 ports?
They reach up to 50 Gbps, but this speed is only available with direct attach cables, for interconnection and stacking — 50G optical modules are not supported. At 1, 10 and 25 Gbps, the choice remains open.
How many switches can be stacked?
Up to ten, with VSF stacking via the front panel: the stack is managed as a single device. Note that stacking is not supported on 1 Gbps ports — it requires the high-speed links.
Does this switch encrypt traffic on its links?
Yes, with MACsec 256, along with support for PTP, AVB and LRM modules. Encryption is performed at link level, with no additional equipment in the path.
What routing features does this switch provide?
Full Layer 3 routing: BGP, OSPF, EVPN, VXLAN and VRF, with access control lists and quality of service. Tunnels between switches, with VXLAN-VRF mapping, allow several customers to be carried on the same infrastructure.
How are access rights enforced on this switch?
Through dynamic segmentation: user, device and application policies are applied automatically across wired and wireless alike, with automated device profiling, role-based access control and Layer 7 firewall functions.
How can you regain control of this switch out of band?
Through the USB-C console port or the dedicated out-of-band management port, plus a USB Type-A host port. In-band, management is via Aruba Central, NetEdit and the HPE CX mobile app.
What performance does this all-fibre switch claim?
880 Gbps switching capacity and 654 Mpps, on a fully distributed architecture built on Gen7 ASICs: very low latency, larger buffers and adaptive power consumption, with wire-speed switching and routing.
Is the switch new, and where can I view its datasheet?
