Can the AP761 withstand permanent exposure to the weather?

Yes, its housing is rated IP68 — dust-tight and protected against immersion — and it operates from -40 to +65 °C. 6 kA surge protection completes the package, which matters on a mast exposed to lightning.

Why does the AP761 have directional antennas?

Because outdoors, concentrating the signal towards the area to be covered is better than spreading it around the mast. Its built-in directional antennas are designed for high-traffic spaces — stadiums, parks, shopping areas — where device density is very uneven.

How many devices can the AP761 serve at the same time?

Up to 1,024 clients, i.e. 512 per radio — one of the highest figures in the category. That is what makes it suited to stadiums and large gatherings, where several hundred devices connect at the same moment.

What is the AP761's SFP port for?

For connecting the access point over fibre optics rather than copper: on a large site — stadium, park, campus — fibre covers distances where copper stops at 100 m. A standard Gigabit Ethernet port remains available for a copper PoE connection.

What power supply do you need for the AP761?

A PoE+ 802.3at port, for a maximum power consumption of 17.7 W — more than the 15.4 W of an 802.3af port. As the fibre link does not carry power, the Ethernet cable is still needed if you power the access point over the network.

What throughput does the AP761 deliver?

1,200 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and 575 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, i.e. 1,775 Mbps combined, with 2x2:2 MU-MIMO. Here, Wi-Fi 6 above all brings efficiency in dense environments: serving many devices without making them wait.

How do you manage the AP761 once it is installed up high?

Without climbing up to it: via the HUAWEI eKit app, the SNC cloud platform or a web interface. Configuration, monitoring and updates are done remotely, which limits interventions on a mast or a façade.

Where can the AP761 be mounted?

On a pole or a mast, outdoors. That is the intended installation for this type of long-range access point: it sits up high, pointed at the area to be covered, which requires a solid mounting point.

Is the equipment new and under warranty?

Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document for one year. Its waterproof design and surge protection are intended for continuous outdoor operation, without regular maintenance.
