Four of the eight Gigabit ports, with PoE+ 802.3at, up to 30 W each, within a total budget of 60 W. Two power-hungry devices would therefore use up the whole budget: spread it across four low-power devices instead.
What can you configure on this managed switch?
VLANs, quality of service, link aggregation and port status monitoring, from a web interface designed to be usable without networking expertise. Basic security features complete the package.
How does this switch prevent network loops?
Through built-in loop detection, which spots and prevents loops before they degrade the network. A cable mistakenly plugged from one port into another will therefore not bring down the whole floor.
Does the GS1200-8HP V2 handle multicast video streams?
Yes, through IGMP snooping: multicast streams are sent only to the ports that request them, instead of being broadcast everywhere. On a network where cameras and workstations coexist, this stops a single stream from taking over every port.
