How is this 48-port switch managed?
From a web browser: VLANs, link aggregation and traffic prioritisation are configured without a command line. The switch also has a built-in DHCP client and server, so it can hand out addresses without any additional equipment.
What latency does this switch offer?
Less than 3.2 µs at Gigabit and less than 8.4 µs at 100 Mbps, on 64-byte packets. Switching capacity reaches 104 Gbps at 77.4 Mpps, with a 16,000-entry MAC address table.
What are the 4 SFP slots on this model for?
For a fibre uplink, at 100 or 1,000 Mbps with auto-detection. With 48 access ports, it is wise to aggregate several of them to avoid a bottleneck towards the network core.
Which duplex modes do the ports on this switch support?
Gigabit runs in full duplex only; 10 and 100 Mbps support both half and full duplex. This is what the standard requires, and worth knowing when an older device forces a particular mode.
What protections does this switch provide?
