How are the ports on the Huawei S220S-24T4J laid out?
24 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports and 4 SFP slots at 2.5 Gbps for uplinks. These four optical ports go beyond Gigabit: they carry the traffic from the 24 ports to the network core or to recent Wi-Fi access points.
Is this 24-port switch silent?
Yes: the 1U metal chassis has no fan. No noise, and no moving part to wear out: that is what allows it to be installed in a classroom, at a hotel reception or in an open-plan space.
What can be configured on the S220S-24T4J?
VLANs, quality of service, access control lists and DHCP snooping, from a web interface or the HUAWEI eKit app. The switch handles up to 4,094 VLANs, LACP aggregation, IGMP snooping and the ERPS resilient ring.
How is management access secured?
With SSH version 2.0 and HTTPS, which avoids exposing credentials on the network. DHCP snooping, meanwhile, blocks an address server plugged into a port by mistake.
