Frequently asked questions about this product

Does the EAP773 really use the 6 GHz band?
Yes, it is tri-band: 5,760 Mbps on 6 GHz with 320 MHz channels, 2,880 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. It is this channel width, reserved for Wi-Fi 7, that explains the gap with previous generations.
Why does the EAP773 have a 10 Gbps Ethernet port?
Because its three radios add up to more than 9 Gbps: even a 2.5 Gbps port would become the bottleneck. The 10 Gbps port removes this ceiling entirely, provided you have a switch that can keep up.
What power supply do you need for the EAP773?
A PoE+ 802.3at port, or a 12 V / 2.5 A power adapter — not included. Power consumption reaches 24 W on PoE and 21 W on mains power. Note: the power requirement was lowered from 802.3bt to 802.3at by a software update.
What does Wi-Fi 7 MLO bring to the EAP773?
Multi-Link Operation lets a compatible device use several bands and channels at the same time: throughput adds up and latency drops, with one band taking over when the other suffers interference. BSS colouring also limits interference between neighbouring access points.
How many devices can the EAP773 serve at the same time?
More than 380 devices, over a stated coverage area of 140 m². Density matters more than area here: it is an access point for a busy office floor or a conference room, not for a large open space.
Does the EAP773 support WPA3 and enterprise authentication?
Yes, in both WPA3-Personal and WPA3-Enterprise, as well as WPA and WPA2 in both variants. It accepts up to 4,000 MAC address filters and flags rogue access points that might be broadcasting within range.
How many Wi-Fi networks can you create on the EAP773?
24 SSIDs, eight per band, with VLAN, rate limiting and client isolation. Each band can thus carry its own networks: staff, visitors and connected devices.
Can you bill or track a user's usage?
Yes, the access point supports RADIUS accounting and MAC address authentication, in addition to the captive portal: connection time and data volume can be reported to a server, as in a hotel or a residence.
Does the EAP773 also act as a Bluetooth gateway?
Yes, it has a built-in 4 dBi Bluetooth 5.2 antenna, intended for IoT uses — sensors, beacons, compatible locks. A firmware update may be needed to enable it.
How much ceiling space does the EAP773 take up?
Just 220 × 220 mm and 32.5 mm thick — one of the slimmest access points in the category despite its three radios. The ceiling and wall mounting kits are supplied with the installation guide.
What monitoring tools does the EAP773 offer?
Web access, SNMP v1, v2c and v3, a local or remote system log and email alerts. Omada controllers — cloud, OC200/OC300 hardware or software — centralise configuration of the whole network.
Under what conditions does the EAP773 operate?
Indoors, between 0 and 40 °C, with 10 to 90% non-condensing humidity. Given its 24 W power consumption, choose an open location rather than a closed enclosure with no ventilation.
Is the equipment new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document for one year. The access point fits into the Omada ecosystem alongside the range's switches and gateways, all managed from the same interface.
