Frequently asked questions about this product

How is PoE distributed on the Zyxel XMG1930-30HP?
20 ports at 2.5G in PoE+ at 30 W, 4 ports at 2.5G in PoE++ at 60 W and 4 ports at 10G, also in PoE++, for a total budget of 700 W. Twenty-eight powered ports in all, eight of them for the most power-hungry devices.
Does taking advantage of 2.5 Gbps require recabling?
No: 2.5 Gbps runs over the Cat 5e cabling already in place. That is what makes this switch attractive in a refurbishment: Wi-Fi 6, 6E or 7 access points are no longer held back, without a single cable being removed.
What uplinks does this switch provide?
4 copper Multi-Gigabit ports — 1, 2.5, 5 or 10 Gbps — and 2 SFP+ fibre slots at 10 Gbps. Six high-speed links to the network core or a server, four of them PoE++ powered.
Does this switch route between VLANs?
Yes, in Lite-L3: static routing, with VLANs, quality of service, IGMP snooping and LACP aggregation. This is the level that lets several internal VLANs communicate without installing a dedicated router.
What performance does this switch offer?
240 Gbps of switching capacity and 178.5 Mpps, with a 16,000-entry MAC address table, IPv6 support and STP, RSTP and MSTP spanning tree.
Can this switch be managed from the cloud?
Yes, through the Nebula platform, or locally from the web interface. For devices spread across several buildings, the cloud console saves you from connecting to each switch in turn.
How much rack space does this switch take up?
441 × 330 × 44 mm: 1U high, 33 cm deep, in a 19-inch rack. With 700 W of PoE to distribute, airflow at the front and rear is not optional.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
