Frequently asked questions about this product
How much power does the Zyxel XMG1915-10EP deliver per port?
Up to 60 W per port in PoE++ 802.3bt, on its eight 2.5G ports, with a 130 W budget in actual-consumption mode. That is what Wi-Fi 6E access points and motorised cameras demand.
What does a PoE budget “in actual-consumption mode” mean?
The switch reserves only the power actually requested by each device, instead of locking in the theoretical maximum per port. You can therefore power more devices with the same 130 W budget.
Does taking advantage of 2.5 Gbps require recabling?
No: 2.5 Gbps works over existing Cat 5e cabling. A Wi-Fi 6 or 6E access point is therefore no longer held back by a Gigabit port, without a single cable being replaced in the walls.
What are the two SFP+ slots used for?
For the 10 Gbps uplink, over fibre or DAC cable, to the upstream switch. Without it, eight ports at 2.5 Gbps would end up sharing a much narrower uplink.
Does this PoE++ switch make any noise?
No: the desktop enclosure has no fan, so it is completely silent, and measures 250 × 104 × 27 mm. That is rare for a switch delivering 60 W per port: it can stay in an occupied office.
What can be configured on this switch?
VLANs, quality of service, IGMP snooping and LACP aggregation, from the local web interface or from the Nebula cloud. Both modes coexist thanks to NebulaFlex, without changing hardware.
What performance does this switch offer?
80 Gbps of switching capacity and 59.5 Mpps, with a 16,000-entry MAC address table and jumbo frames up to 12 KB — useful for transfers to network storage.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. Full technical details are in the XMG1915-10EP datasheet.
