Frequently asked questions about this product

What do the 2.5 Gbps ports on the SG2210XMP-M2 bring?
The eight RJ45 ports negotiate up to 2.5 Gbps while supplying PoE+: a Wi-Fi 6 or 7 access point is no longer held back by its wired link, and a demanding workstation goes beyond the Gigabit ceiling over a simple copper cable.
What PoE budget does this switch offer?
160 W in total, with up to 30 W per port under the 802.3af and 802.3at standards on all eight ports. Five Wi-Fi access points at 30 W already use most of the budget: add up the actual consumption before cabling.
Do cameras stay powered while the switch restarts?
Yes: the Fast PoE and Perpetual PoE features keep cameras, access points and IP phones powered even while the switch reboots. No device goes down during an update.
Can this switch route between VLANs?
Yes, with Layer 3 static routing: 32 IP interfaces and 32 IPv4 or IPv6 static routes. Traffic between segments stays inside the switch, so internal traffic does not have to go all the way up to the router.
What are the two 10 Gigabit slots for?
They are the 10 Gbps SFP+ uplinks to the network core or a fast storage server: without them, eight 2.5 Gbps ports would be squeezed into a single outlet. Switching capacity reaches 80 Gbps at 59.52 Mpps.
Is this PoE switch silent?
Yes, it has no fan at all, which is rare for a model delivering 160 W of PoE. It can therefore be installed on a desk, on a wall or in a rack as required, and operates from -5 to 40 °C.
How is this switch powered?
By an external 53.5 V, 3.37 A power adapter: allow for a socket and room for the adapter, especially when wall-mounting. The unit itself measures 226 × 131.2 × 35 mm.
How is this switch managed?
Through the Omada SDN platform — from the cloud, a browser or the app —, in standalone or centralised mode. 802.1Q VLANs, quality of service, access control lists and LACP aggregation are all configured from the same interface.
Is the switch new, and where can I find its datasheet?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. The manufacturer's document covers the SG2210XMP-M2 in detail, including its PoE features and static routing: datasheet (PDF).
