Is a power supply included with the Instant On AP12?

No, power sources are ordered separately: a 15.4 W 802.3af PoE injector or a 12 V / 18 W power adapter. These accessories are optional when the access point is powered by a PoE switch, which is the most common case.

Are mounting clips included with the AP12?

Yes, the access point comes with two clips: a black one for suspended ceiling grid rails, a white one for a solid surface, wall or ceiling. No additional kit is needed in either case.

What difference does the 3×3 on the AP12's 5 GHz band make?

Three radio chains on the 5 GHz band take throughput up to 1,300 Mbps, compared with 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. MU-MIMO serves several devices in parallel: it is sized for a café, a practice or a busy boutique hotel.

Do you need a controller or a subscription to manage the AP12?

No, everything is managed from the Instant On mobile app — Android or iOS — or from a cloud portal. That is the principle of the range: a professional network you can manage without a dedicated IT team.

Can you keep the visitor network separate on the AP12?

Yes, a guest network separate from the staff network is created from the app, with a customisable welcome page in your colours. The access point also has a built-in DHCP server and network address translation.

Can you cut off a specific device's access with the AP12?

Yes, the app lets you block a device in a few taps and limit bandwidth per network or per session. Useful in a café or a hotel, where a single customer can saturate the connection.

Does the AP12 support WPA3?

Yes, in WPA2 and WPA3, as well as Enhanced Open, which encrypts sessions on an open network without requiring visitors to enter a password. The access point is Wi-Fi Alliance certified for 802.11ac Wave 2.

Can you add an access point where no network cable reaches?

Yes, Smart Mesh technology lets an access point connect to the network wirelessly rather than by cable. It still needs power on site, but no network cable has to be run to it.

Are the AP12's antennas directional?

They are integrated, omnidirectional and downtilted, with a maximum gain of 3.9 dBi on 2.4 GHz and 5.4 dBi on 5 GHz. This downtilt means the access point performs at its best when mounted on the ceiling.

What connectors does the AP12 have?

A Gigabit Ethernet port for the uplink, with 802.3af PoE input, a 12 V DC input, a Bluetooth Low Energy radio and a Kensington lock slot against theft. The enclosure measures 157 × 157 × 34 mm and weighs 483 g.

Is the equipment new and under warranty?

Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document for 1 year. The access point is Wi-Fi Alliance certified for 802.11ac Wave 2, a guarantee of interoperability with the devices on the market.
