Is the power adapter included with the EAP620 HD?
Yes, the box contains the access point, a power adapter and the quick start guide. You can therefore power it at 12 V through its dedicated input, or over the network cable with PoE+ 802.3at — passive PoE is also accepted.
How much power does the EAP620 HD consume?
12 W typical consumption: an entry-level PoE port is more than enough, and several access points fit easily within the power budget of a small PoE switch.
Does the EAP620 HD broadcast on the 6 GHz band?
No, it is dual-band: 1,201 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. The 6 GHz band belongs to Wi-Fi 6E; a compatible device will connect here on the 5 GHz band, with no loss of functionality.
How many devices does the EAP620 HD serve at the same time?
Up to 1,020 connected devices. Wi-Fi 6 MU-MIMO and OFDMA, with 1024-QAM modulation, serve several clients in the same time slot rather than one after the other.
Does the EAP620 HD support WPA3 and server-based authentication?
Yes: WPA3 and WPA3-PSK, as well as WPA2-Enterprise and support for a RADIUS server, where each user authenticates with their own credentials rather than with a shared key.
How many Wi-Fi networks can you create on the EAP620 HD?
16 SSIDs, with VLAN assignment, rate limiting and client isolation. The visitor network thus stays walled off, with no additional equipment.
Does the EAP620 HD distribute devices between its two bands?
Yes, band steering directs compatible devices to the 5 GHz band, and airtime fairness stops a slow device from slowing down all the others. The channel is selected automatically at power-up.
What monitoring tools does the EAP620 HD offer?
Web management, SNMP versions 1, 2 and 3, SSH access, a system log and upgradeable firmware. The Omada SDN platform then centralises management of all your devices, from the cloud or a local controller.
Are the EAP620 HD's antennas visible?
No, they are internal and omnidirectional, with a maximum gain of 6 dBi. The white enclosure measures 160 × 160 × 33 mm: mounted on a suspended ceiling tile, it is barely noticeable.
Can you add an access point where no network cable reaches?
Yes, the EAP620 HD supports Wi-Fi mesh: the new access point connects to the network wirelessly. It still needs power on site, and seamless roaming moves devices from one access point to another without interruption.
Under what conditions does the EAP620 HD operate?
Indoors, between 0 and 40 °C, at 10 to 90% humidity. It mounts on the ceiling or the wall, and connects through a single Gigabit Ethernet port that powers it at the same time.
Is the equipment new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document for 1 year. The access point is CE, FCC and RoHS certified and fits into the Omada ecosystem alongside the range's switches and gateways.
