Very high-power online UPS for critical infrastructure: online double-conversion, 12 kW / 15 kVA, 6U stack/rack chassis. Technology & protection: power is fully regenerated, continuously — the equipment never touches the mains, with no transfer time. Maximum protection against power cuts, surges, voltage fluctuations and electrical noise. Power: 15 kVA for 12 kW — sized for server racks and industrial equipment. Ports: terminal-block connection (fixed wiring by an electrician); single-phase or three-phase input depending on the installation. Management: RS-232 serial port, network management card and a port for network access; emergency power off (EPO) switch. Additional battery modules and hot-swap batteries, replaceable without switching off your equipment. LCD display (PowerView module): shows load, battery level and remaining runtime — monitor the UPS without any software. Designed, for example, for data centres and critical infrastructure. Remember to check how much power your equipment draws and to choose the capacity according to the runtime you need.

Frequently asked questions about this product
Does the Smart-UPS RT 15 kVA connect via sockets or a terminal block?
Via a terminal block on the input: either 3-wire single-phase or 5-wire three-phase, depending on the installation. It is fixed wiring, to be done by an electrician, with a 100 A input circuit breaker to be provided.
What outputs does the Smart-UPS RT 15 kVA offer?
Eight heavy-duty 16 A C19 outlets, two IEC jumpers, and two terminal block outputs — one 3-wire, the other 5-wire. C19 is the format used by high-current equipment, blade chassis and storage arrays.
How much does the Smart-UPS RT 15 kVA weigh?
247.7 kg, for a 432 × 773 × 533 mm chassis. At this weight, installation requires handling equipment, a floor that has been checked and clear access all the way to the room: this is the first point to sort out.
Can the batteries be changed without shutting down the equipment?
Yes, they are hot-swappable, without switching off the connected devices. Additional battery modules can also extend the runtime, and a full recharge takes 2 h 30.
Why does 15 kVA give only 12 kW?
The power factor is 0.8: 12 kW actually available. Compare this figure in watts with the combined consumption of the server room — it is what determines the load the UPS can carry.
What input voltage range does the UPS accept?
160 to 280 V, with an auto-sensed frequency of 40 to 70 Hz. In double conversion, the output remains a sine wave whatever the quality of the incoming grid.
How is the Smart-UPS RT 15 kVA monitored?
Through a DB-9 RS-232 serial port, a 10/100 RJ-45 network port for remote monitoring, and a SmartSlot. A PowerView LCD screen on the front panel shows the load, battery level and remaining runtime.
Can the UPS be shut off in an emergency?
Yes, an emergency power-off (EPO) switch is provided: in a single action, it cuts power to everything connected. This is a common requirement in a regulated electrical room.
Is the APC Smart-UPS RT 15 kVA new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for 2 years. Its batteries are maintenance-free sealed lead-acid, and the UPS accepts a 230 V single-phase or 400 V three-phase input depending on the installation. The datasheet covers the rest.
