What power supply does the WAX630S need?

A PoE+ 802.3at port: its consumption reaches 19.5 W, which the manufacturer presents as a strength — delivering this level of performance without exceeding the PoE+ standard. A 12 V / 2 A DC supply remains an option.

Is the power supply unit supplied with the WAX630S?

The box contains a mounting plate and the screws. So make sure you have a PoE+ port on your switch, or buy a 12 V / 2 A power supply separately if no PoE port is available at the chosen location.

What is the WAX630S's smart antenna?

A 4x4 antenna on the 5 GHz band and 2x2 on 2.4 GHz whose radiation pattern adapts continuously: it steers around sources of interference instead of suffering from them, which stabilises throughput in a busy radio environment.

Why does the WAX630S have a 2.5 Gbps port?

Because its 5 GHz radio reaches 2,400 Mbps: a 1 Gbps port would become the bottleneck. The 2.5 Gbps port removes that ceiling, and a second Gigabit port lets you serve a nearby wired device.

How does the WAX630S distribute devices across its two bands?

Through load balancing and smart client steering: the access point measures the signal level, selects the appropriate band and spreads dual-band devices between 2.4 and 5 GHz rather than letting them pile up on the same frequency.

Do you need a controller to manage the WAX630S?

Three modes to choose from with NebulaFlex Pro: Nebula cloud, on-site controller or standalone mode. Switching is done through configuration, without changing hardware or buying another licence for local mode.

Does the WAX630S support enterprise authentication?

Yes, with WPA3 and 802.1X and RADIUS: each user authenticates against a server, without a shared key. Rogue access point detection and MAC address filtering complete the setup.

Can two WAX630S access points be linked without a cable between them?

Yes, the ZyMesh feature lets an access point connect to the network wirelessly. It must still be powered on site, and 802.11r, k and v fast roaming keeps the connection going from one access point to the next.

Is the WAX630S protected against power surges?

Yes, it has built-in surge and electrostatic discharge protection, in addition to 4G and 5G interference filters that reduce interference from nearby mobile networks.

In what conditions does the WAX630S operate?

Indoors, between 0 and 50 °C — ten degrees more headroom than the average office access point. The enclosure weighs 530 g and mounts on the ceiling with the plate supplied.

Is the equipment new and under warranty?
