Product overview
A high-end, high-power online UPS for critical infrastructure: online double conversion, 8 kVA / 7200 W. Technology & protection: power is fully and continuously regenerated — the equipment is never exposed to the mains, with zero transfer time. Maximum protection against outages, surges, voltage fluctuations and electrical noise. Power: 8 kVA for 7200 W of real power (0.9 power factor) — almost all of the rated power is available in watts. Runtime can be extended with external battery cabinets. Ports: 4 heavy-duty C19 outlets + terminal block; three-phase input connection. USB and serial ports and slot for an SNMP network card. Pure sine wave output; active cooling (≈ 48 dB), to be installed in a technical room. LCD display: shows load, battery level and remaining runtime — so you can monitor the UPS without any software. Designed, for example, for server racks, data centres or network equipment. Remember to check how much power your equipment draws and to choose the rating according to the runtime you need.

Frequently asked questions about this product
Does the 9PX 8000i require a three-phase supply?
Yes: the input is three-phase at 380, 400 or 415 V, on a terminal block, with the output remaining single-phase. The accepted range runs from 305 to 480 V. The three-phase circuit at the distribution board is the first point to confirm with an electrician.
Is the maintenance bypass supplied with the 9PX 8000i?
Yes, an external maintenance bypass is supplied with the unit: it lets you remove the UPS for servicing or replacement without cutting power to the equipment. That is what the HotSwap suffix in the model designation refers to.
Does this 8 kVA UPS deliver 7200 W of usable power?
Yes, thanks to a power factor of 0.9: 8000 × 0.9 = 7200 W. The 9PX also has input power factor correction, which limits the harmonics sent back into the upstream three-phase supply.
Can two 9PX 8000i units be run in parallel?
Yes: a DB15 connector is provided for paralleling two UPSs, which lets you either double the power or build in redundancy. Few UPSs in this range allow it.
What outputs does the 9PX 8000i offer?
Four heavy-duty 16 A C19 outlets, plus a terminal block output for fixed wiring. The output voltage can be set to 200, 208, 220, 230, 240 or 250 V, within ±1%.
How do you monitor the 9PX 8000i and shut down the servers?
Via a USB port or an RS-232 port — not simultaneously —, four dry contacts on DB9, a mini terminal block for remote control and an emergency power off. A slot accepts a Network-MS, ModBus-MS or Relay-MS network card.
What space and weight should you plan for?
440 × 260 × 700 mm for 88 kg: this model combines a power module, a battery module and the maintenance bypass. Plan the handling, and a floor able to bear this load.
Is the Eaton 9PX 8000i (9PX8KIBP31) new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for 2 years. It delivers a sine wave output, has a built-in bypass, stays below 48 dBA and shows its status on a multilingual graphic LCD screen.
