Frequently asked questions about this product
Are batteries included with the E3MUPS80KHBS?
No: the unit is supplied without batteries. Runtime is designed per project, with modular internal batteries chosen according to the backup time required. It is the first item to cost, along with installation.
Does the E3MUPS80KHBS require a three-phase connection?
Yes: input and output are three-phase at 400 V — also 380 or 415 V —, on a 5-wire terminal block (3 phases, neutral, earth). Input current reaches 104 A per phase: the electrical circuit must be sized accordingly.
What input voltage range does the UPS accept?
342 to 477 V, at a frequency of 40 to 70 Hz. The input power factor reaches 0.99 at full load, with harmonic distortion below 3%: the UPS does not pollute the upstream grid.
How does the UPS handle an overload?
10 minutes at 125% load and 60 seconds at 150%. These margins cover the start-up peaks of an entire room, but not sizing that is permanently inadequate.
What type of bypass does the E3MUPS80KHBS have?
A built-in static bypass: it transfers the equipment to direct mains power in the event of an internal fault or overload, with no mechanical parts and therefore no switching time.
How is an 80 kVA UPS like this one monitored?
Through a touchscreen interface on the front panel and through the EcoStruxure platform, which provides remote monitoring and management in the cloud. A USB port is also available locally.
How much space and weight should be allowed for in the room?
A cabinet 197 cm high, 60 cm wide and 100 cm deep, weighing 339 kg — without batteries. Access to the room, the door and the floor must be checked before ordering.
What is supplied with the E3MUPS80KHBS?
A dust filter, the installation guide and a start-up service. On a UPS of this size, commissioning by a qualified technician is part of the delivery, not an option.
Is the APC E3MUPS80KHBS new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. It delivers a sine wave with distortion below 3%, operates between 0 and 40 °C, and its noise level of 65 dBA confines it to a dedicated electrical room.
