Frequently asked questions about this product
Is the battery system included with the E3MUPS100KHS?
No: an external battery system must be provided. It is what will determine the actual runtime, and it accounts for a significant share of the project's budget and footprint — to be costed from the outset.
Does the E3MUPS100KHS require a three-phase connection?
Yes: input and output are three-phase at 400 V — also 380 or 415 V —, on a 5-wire terminal block (3 phases, neutral, earth). Input current reaches 177 A per phase.
What efficiency does the E3MUPS100KHS achieve?
94.8%. On a 100 kW unit running continuously, each point of efficiency means one kilowatt less heat to remove — the air-conditioning calculation depends directly on it.
What input voltage range does the UPS accept?
342 to 477 V, at a frequency of 40 to 70 Hz. The input power factor reaches 0.99 at full load: the UPS sends virtually no harmonics back onto the upstream grid.
What type of bypass does the E3MUPS100KHS have?
A built-in static bypass: it transfers the equipment to direct mains power in the event of an internal fault or overload, with no mechanical parts and therefore no switching time.
How is a 100 kVA UPS monitored?
Through a touchscreen interface on the front panel and through the EcoStruxure platform, which provides remote monitoring and management in the cloud. A USB port remains available locally.
How much space and weight should be allowed for in the room?
A cabinet 91.5 cm high, 36 cm wide and 85 cm deep, weighing 145 kg — excluding the battery system. That is compact for 100 kVA, but access and the floor must be checked before ordering.
Is the APC E3MUPS100KHS new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. It delivers a sine wave with output distortion below 3%, and its noise level of 65 dBA confines it to a dedicated electrical room.
Network management card already fitted, with environmental monitoring: it is administered and raises alerts remotely. 9 minutes of runtime at 50% load (10 kW), extendable with battery packs.
•Runtime: 9 min at 50% load (10 kW), 5 min at 70% (14 kW)
•An external battery pack is included; runtime remains extendable
•Network Management Card 3 pre-installed, with environmental monitoring
Fifteen minutes of runtime at full load, internal batteries included. Dust filter and conformal-coated boards: it is made for demanding premises, on a three-phase 400 V input tolerated from 304 to 477 V.
Power factor of 1: all 8 000 W stated are available. Ten battery-backed outlets, four of them heavy-duty 16 A, and the Web/SNMP network management card is included.
•8 000 W usable output (power factor of 1)
•6 C13 outlets, the format used by computer and server power cords, all battery-backed
•4 C19 outlets, heavy-duty 16 A, also battery-backed
Ten battery-backed outlets, four of them heavy-duty 16 A, for 4 500 W usable and around 11 minutes of runtime at half load (2 250 W). The Web/SNMP management card is included.
