Frequently asked questions about this product
Does the Easy 3S 20 kVA require a three-phase supply?
Yes: input and output are 400 V three-phase, with 380 and 415 V also accepted. Connection is made to a terminal block, as fixed wiring — installation requires an electrician and a suitable distribution board.
How much current does the E3SUPS20KHB draw per phase?
37 A maximum per phase. This is the figure to give your electrician to size the upstream protection and the cable cross-section: an undersized circuit would trip at the first rise in load.
Does this 20 kVA unit really deliver 20 kW?
Yes, 20 kVA corresponds here to 20 kW. The unit also accepts loads with a power factor ranging from 0.9 leading to 0.9 lagging, with no loss of available power.
What input voltage does the E3SUPS20KHB tolerate?
From 304 to 477 V, with an accepted mains frequency of 45 to 65 Hz. This latitude lets it stay in normal mode where an unstable grid would switch an ordinary UPS over to its batteries.
What quality of power does it deliver?
A pure sine wave, harmonic distortion below 3% and voltage held to within ±1.5%. That is what sensitive equipment running around the clock requires.
Does the E3SUPS20KHB disturb the upstream grid?
Very little: its input power factor reaches 0.99 and its input harmonic distortion stays below 3% at full load. It therefore behaves almost like a resistive load for the installation that feeds it.
How much heat does the E3SUPS20KHB give off?
900 W of heat dissipation: a ventilated, or even air-conditioned, technical room is required. It operates between 0 and 40 °C, up to 95% non-condensing humidity.
How much space should be allowed for the E3SUPS20KHB?
A cabinet 140 cm high, 38 wide and 92.8 deep, weighing 122 kg. Allow access clearance for maintenance and a floor able to bear that load.
Is the APC Easy 3S E3SUPS20KHB new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. It is monitored through a USB port, withstands a short-circuit current of 10 kA and carries CE, EAC and RCM certifications.
