How long does the SRV2KIL run on battery?
49 minutes at half load, i.e. 800 W, and 33 minutes at 70%, i.e. 1120 W. That is substantial runtime, not just a brief reprieve: it lets you ride out an entire outage rather than shut down in a hurry.
What does the SRV2KIL's double conversion bring?
The power is continuously regenerated: your servers are never connected directly to the mains and are spared its dips and interference. There is no transfer time when a power cut occurs.
How much power can the SRV2KIL handle?
1600 W, for the stated 2 kVA. It is this wattage that must be compared with the combined consumption of your servers, never the VA figure in the product name — and the more headroom you leave, the longer the runtime.
Which outlets does the SRV2KIL have?
Four C13 outputs, the format used by computer and server power cords, at 230 V. Plan on IEC cords for your machines: there is no household socket.
Can the SRV2KIL shut down the servers on its own?
Yes, it has a USB port and an RS-232 serial port: connected to your machines, they trigger a clean shutdown when the battery nears depletion. Two options, then, including for older hardware.
Can the SRV2KIL cope with an unstable power grid?
Its accepted input frequency ranges from 40 to 70 Hz, with auto-sensing, well beyond the nominal 50 Hz. At the output, it is held at 50 or 60 Hz to within ±3 Hz, synchronised with the grid.
Where should the SRV2KIL be installed?
Preferably in a technical room: it is rated at 50 dBA and dissipates 745 BTU/h, with active cooling. It is a tower 33.5 cm wide, 42.5 deep and 33.6 high, to be placed on the floor.
How much does the SRV2KIL weigh, and how long does it take to recharge?
45.4 kg — it takes two people to handle — and 5 hours 30 minutes for a full recharge. The sealed lead-acid batteries are rated for 3 to 5 years of service.
