A high-end online UPS, convertible between rack and tower: online double conversion, 6000 VA / 5400 W, 3U format. Technology & protection: power is fully and continuously regenerated — your servers are never exposed to the mains, with zero transfer time. Complete protection against outages, surges, voltage fluctuations and electrical noise. Power: 6000 VA for 5400 W of real power (0.9 power factor) — almost all of the rated power is available in watts. Runtime: about 11 minutes at half load (2700 W), 8 minutes at 70%. Ports: 8 C13 outlets + 2 heavy-duty C19 outlets + terminal block. Active cooling (≈ 45 dB), ideally installed in a technical room. Designed, for example, for servers, storage or critical network racks. LCD display: shows load, battery level and remaining runtime at a glance — so you can monitor the UPS without any software. Remember to check how much power your equipment draws and to choose the rating according to the runtime you need.

Frequently asked questions about this product
How long does the 9SX 6000i run on battery?
11 minutes at 50% load, i.e. 2700 W, and 8 minutes at 70%, i.e. 3780 W. Runtime can be extended with external battery cabinets, which the UPS detects automatically as soon as they are connected.
What are the controllable outlet groups on the 9SX for?
To cut non-essential loads first: two outlet groups can be controlled separately, so you can switch off secondary equipment during an outage and reserve the whole battery for critical machines. That is extra runtime without changing UPS.
What outputs does the 9SX 6000i offer?
Eight C13 outlets, two heavy-duty C19 outlets and a terminal block output. The input, for its part, is on a terminal block only: it is fixed wiring, to be done by an electrician.
Does this 6 kVA UPS really deliver 5400 W of usable power?
Yes, thanks to its power factor of 0.9: 6000 × 0.9 = 5400 W. The 9SX also has input power factor correction, which limits the pollution it sends back into the upstream supply.
Can the batteries be changed without shutting down the servers?
Yes, they are hot-swappable from the front panel. Charging uses either the ABM method — which only recharges when necessary and gives up to 50% longer service life — or temperature compensation, as you choose.
Is the network management card included?
No: it is only supplied as standard on the Netpack versions of the range. On this model, the slot is free and accepts a Network-MS (SNMP), ModBus-MS or dry-contact Relay-MS card, to be ordered separately.
Can the 9SX 6000i be installed in a rack or as a tower?
Both: a 3U convertible chassis, with a rack-mount kit included, and a multilingual graphic LCD screen that can be rotated to suit the position. Allow for 440 × 130 × 685 mm and 48 kg.
How do you connect the 9SX 6000i to a monitoring system or a server?
Via a USB port or an RS-232 port — which cannot be used simultaneously —, four dry contacts on DB9, a mini terminal block for remote on/off control and an emergency power off. A slot also takes an optional network card.
Does service continue if the UPS fails?
Yes, an internal bypass lets mains power through to the equipment even if the UPS fails or there is a short circuit downstream. This is what stops a UPS failure from becoming a rack failure.
Is the Eaton 9SX 6000i (9SX6KIRT) new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for 2 years on a standard-exchange basis — installation, removal and connection to the load remaining the customer's responsibility. It stays below 45 dB. The datasheet covers the rest.
