Does the WBE510D lose performance if it is mounted on a wall?

No, its antenna is dual-optimised: it has one radiation pattern for ceiling mounting and another for wall mounting. You choose the location to suit your constraints, with no loss of signal.

What happens if the WBE510D is connected to an 802.3af PoE port?

Wi-Fi does not work: 802.3af is explicitly listed as “without wireless”. You need a PoE+ 802.3at port — or 802.3bt — for unrestricted operation. The access point draws 21.5 W.

What is the WBE510D's BandFlex radio?

Its second radio can be configured for 5 GHz or 6 GHz, as you choose. This is what allows a gradual migration to the 6 GHz band as your devices catch up, without changing hardware.

What throughput does the WBE510D deliver?

5,764 Mbps if the BandFlex radio is set to 6 GHz, 4,324 Mbps on 5 GHz, plus 688 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band. Wi-Fi 7 MLO also lets a compatible device use several bands simultaneously.

Can the WBE510D be powered other than by PoE?

Yes, it accepts power from a USB-C charger — useful for commissioning or a temporary installation, when no PoE+ port is available on site.

Is the cloud licence included with the WBE510D?

Yes, a 1-year Nebula Professional Pack licence is included. With NebulaFlex Pro, the access point can be managed from the Nebula cloud, an on-site controller or in standalone mode, as you prefer.

Why does the WBE510D have a 2.5 Gbps port?

Because its radio far exceeds Gigabit speeds: with more than 5 Gbps on the wireless side, a 1 Gbps port would become the bottleneck. The port negotiates 1 or 2.5 Gbps depending on the switch at the other end, and it is also the port that receives PoE.

Does the WBE510D support enterprise authentication?

Yes, with WPA3 and 802.1X and RADIUS: each user authenticates against a server, without a shared key. Rogue access point detection and MAC address filtering complete the setup, along with VLAN segmentation.

Can two WBE510D access points be linked without a cable between them?

Yes, the ZyMesh feature lets an access point connect to the network wirelessly. It must still be powered on site, and 802.11r, k and v fast roaming keeps the connection going as a user moves around.

In what conditions does the WBE510D operate?

Indoors, at up to 95 % humidity, non-condensing, during operation. Its dual-optimised antenna allows it to be mounted on the ceiling or on the wall, depending on the layout of the premises.

Is the equipment new and under warranty?

Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document for 1 year, with a 1-year Nebula Professional Pack licence included. The access point can be managed from the cloud, a local controller or its standalone interface, as you prefer.
