Product overview
A high-end online UPS, convertible between rack and tower: online double conversion, 1500 VA / 1500 W, 2U format. Technology & protection: power is fully and continuously regenerated — your servers are never exposed to the mains, with zero transfer time. Complete protection against outages, surges, voltage fluctuations and electrical noise. Power: 1500 VA for 1500 W of real power — its power factor of 1 makes all of the rated power available in watts. Outlets: 8 C13-type outlets (the standard computer and server power cord). Management: USB port and RS-232 serial port for automatic shutdown; slot for an SNMP network card. Pure sine wave output; quiet operation (under 35 dB). LCD display: shows load, battery level and remaining runtime at a glance — so you can monitor the UPS without any software. Ideal, for example, for a server, a NAS or network equipment. Remember to check how much power your equipment draws and to choose the rating according to the runtime you need.

Frequently asked questions about this product
Does this 1500 VA unit really deliver 1500 W?
Yes: the power factor is 1, so the full 1500 VA is available in watts. On a desktop line-interactive UPS at 0.6, only 900 would be left — the difference lies in what you can actually plug in.
Is the network management card included?
It does not appear in the box contents, which comprise the UPS, two IEC cords, a USB cable, a serial cable, the mounting brackets and the locking system. A card slot is provided and accepts a Network-MS, ModBus-MS or Relay-MS card.
Does the 9PX 1500 install in a rack or as a tower?
Both, and the brackets are supplied: two 19-inch mounting brackets, two universal rails and two stands for vertical installation. The chassis is 2U, 440 mm wide and 450 deep, and weighs 18.9 kg.
Is the 9PX 1500's output a pure sine wave?
Yes, the output is a sine wave, continuously regenerated by double conversion. The output voltage can be set to 200, 208, 220, 230 or 240 V, at a frequency of 50 or 60 Hz.
What input voltage does the 9PX 1500 accept?
From 176 to 276 V, at a frequency of 50 or 60 Hz, auto-selected. Double conversion with power factor correction also limits the harmonics fed back into the upstream mains.
Which outlets does the 9PX 1500 have?
Eight C13 outlets on the output side and one C14 inlet. Two IEC cords are supplied to connect the first two machines; beyond that, you will need your own cords.
Can the 9PX 1500 be shut down or restarted remotely?
Yes: in addition to the USB and RS-232 serial ports, the UPS has three mini terminal blocks — remote on/off, remote power off and relay output. Enough to integrate it into an existing building management system.
Can a 1500 VA online UPS stay close to a workstation?
This one, yes: it is rated at less than 35 dBA, which is remarkably low for a double-conversion unit. A multilingual graphical LCD screen displays the unit's status without any software being required.
Is the Eaton 9PX 1500 (9PX1500IRT2U) new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. The replacement battery reference is the EBM 2U module, and an audible alarm signals changes in the UPS's status.
Twenty minutes of runtime at half load (2 400 W), extended to several hours with up to four external battery cabinets. The standard maintenance bypass allows the unit to be swapped without shutting down the equipment.
