Product overview

A high-end online UPS, convertible between rack and tower: online double conversion, 2200 VA / 2200 W, 3U format.
Technology & protection: power is fully and continuously regenerated — your servers are never exposed to the mains, with zero transfer time. Complete protection against outages, surges, voltage fluctuations and electrical noise.
Power: 2200 VA for 2200 W of real power — its power factor of 1 makes all of the rated power available in watts.
Runtime: about 15 minutes at half load (1100 W); extendable with additional battery modules.
Outlets: 8 C13 outlets + 2 heavy-duty C19 outlets for power-hungry equipment.
Management: USB port and RS-232 serial port for automatic shutdown; slot for an SNMP network card. Graphical LCD display to monitor the UPS. Low-noise operation (under 40 dB).

Frequently asked questions about this product

How long does the 9PX 2200 RT3U run on battery?
15 minutes at half load, i.e. 1100 W. The runtime can be extended with up to four hot-swappable battery modules, which lets you go well beyond that without changing UPS.
What is the benefit of this 9PX's shallow 3U format?
It is only 485 mm deep, for 440 wide and 130 high, i.e. 3U. By trading one U of height for 12 cm less depth, it fits into shallow cabinets where a longer 2U unit will not.
Does this 2200 VA unit really deliver 2200 W?
Yes: the power factor is 1, so the full 2200 VA is available in watts. On a line-interactive UPS at 0.6, only 1320 would be left.
Which outlets does the 9PX 2200 RT3U have?
Eight C13 outlets and two heavy-duty 16 A C19 outlets, with a C20 inlet. The input cable and two IEC output cords are supplied.
What are the controllable outlet groups for?
To shut down secondary equipment first during a power cut, keeping the battery for critical machines. On a 2200 VA unit, this can noticeably extend the useful backup time.
Does power still get through if the UPS fails?
Yes, an internal bypass keeps the equipment powered. The UPS accepts an input of 176 to 276 V at 50 or 60 Hz, auto-selected, before drawing on its battery.
Can this 9PX 2200 stay in an occupied room?
It stays below 40 dBA, which is low for a 2200 VA double-conversion unit. Allow for 24.5 kg: rack installation takes two people.
Is the Eaton 9PX 2200 RT3U (9PX2200IRT3U) new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. It delivers a pure sine wave, displays its status on a multilingual graphical LCD screen, and its battery can be extended with an external EBM 3U module. The datasheet covers the rest.
