Frequently asked questions about this product

Does this 9PX 3000 have French outlets?
Yes, and that is what sets it apart: four French outlets on the output side, into which you plug your devices directly — with no adapter or IEC cord, unlike almost every other UPS in this range.
Does this 3000 VA unit really deliver 3000 W?
Yes: the power factor is 1, so the full 3000 VA is available in watts. On a conventional UPS with French outlets, whose power factor is around 0.6, only 1800 would be left.
How does the 9PX3000IRTBPF connect to the mains?
Via a heavy-duty C20 inlet — the 16 A format, not the C14 of a desktop UPS. The accepted range runs from 176 to 276 V, with automatic 50/60 Hz selection.
What is the benefit of this model's shallow 3U format?
It is only 485 mm deep, for 440 wide and 130 high, i.e. 3U. It therefore fits into shallow cabinets where a longer 2U unit will not, and converts to a tower, brackets supplied.
Is the output a pure sine wave?
Yes, the output is a pure sine wave, continuously regenerated by double conversion. The output frequency is held at 50 or 60 Hz.
How do you monitor the 9PX3000IRTBPF?
Through a USB port, an RS-232 serial port and three mini terminal blocks — remote on/off, remote power off, relay output. A slot accepts a Network-MS, ModBus-MS or Relay-MS card.
Is this 9PX 3000 with French outlets noisy?
It stays below 40 dBA, which is low for a 3000 VA double-conversion unit. Allow for 27.4 kg: it has to sit on the floor or at the bottom of the rack.
Is the Eaton 9PX 3000 RT3U (9PX3000IRTBPF) new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. It displays its status on a multilingual graphical LCD screen, and its battery can be extended with an external EBM 3U module.
