What does PoE++ bring to the ZyXEL XS1930-12HP?
Up to 60 W per port, twice as much as standard PoE+. That is what multi-radio Wi-Fi 6E access points, motorised cameras with heaters and digital signage displays powered over the network cable require.
Are the powered ports on this switch 10 Gbps?
Yes, the 8 PoE++ ports are 10 Gbps, which is rare: most PoE switches top out at Gigabit. You can therefore power a device while giving it a very high-speed link over the same cable.
What uplinks does the XS1930-12HP offer?
Four 10 Gbps links: 2 SFP+ slots and 2 10GbE ports. They carry the traffic from the eight access ports to the network core, over fibre for distance or over copper for short runs.
What PoE budget does this switch offer?
375 W in total. With a maximum of 60 W per port, that covers six power-hungry devices at full power, or all eight ports with lower-power devices: it is the overall budget that decides, not the number of sockets.
How much electrical power should you allow for in the rack?
Up to 493 W, once the 375 W of PoE is being delivered. It is this figure that determines the UPS sizing and the thermal calculation: the chassis weighs 2.8 kg, measures 330 × 230 mm and is 1U high.
What level of management does this switch offer?
Layer 2 management, with SNMP monitoring and IPv6 support. VLANs, quality of service and PoE++ port monitoring are all configured from the switch's management interface.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
