Frequently asked questions about this product
How many PoE+ ports does the ZyXEL GS1920-48HPV2 have?
44 ports at 100/1000 Mbps, all PoE+ 802.3at, up to 30 W per port. On top of these come 4 SFP or copper combo ports and 2 dedicated SFP slots, reserved for uplinks.
Is the 375 W PoE budget enough for the 44 ports?
It is a budget to be shared out, not 30 W guaranteed on every port. 375 W covers 44 ordinary IP phones or fixed cameras; however, around twenty motorised cameras at full power would already exhaust the budget.
What is the difference between the combo ports and the dedicated SFP slots?
The 4 combo ports can be used with fibre or copper, as you choose, but never both at once on the same slot. The 2 dedicated SFP slots, on the other hand, only accept fibre: they are in addition to the 44 access ports and do not take up any of them.
What level of management does this switch offer?
Layer 2 web management, with SNMP monitoring and IPv6 compatibility. VLANs, quality of service and PoE port monitoring are configured from a browser, without a command line.
How much power should you allow for in the rack?
Up to 474.3 W, once the 375 W of PoE is being delivered. On a 48-socket switch, this is the figure to use for the UPS as well as for the rack ventilation.
How much rack space does this switch take up?
441 × 270 mm and 4.1 kg, in 1U. At 27 cm deep, it needs a standard 19-inch rack — a shallow wall-mount cabinet will not do.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. This is the ZyXEL GS1920-48HPV2, reference GS192048HPV2-EU0101F.
