Frequently asked questions about this product

How many PoE ports does the Catalyst 2960-24LT-L have?
8 powered ports out of the 24 10/100 ports, plus 2 Gigabit RJ-45 ports for the uplink. This is the point to check before installation: sixteen outlets do not deliver power.
How many VLANs does this switch support?
Up to 255 VLANs, with the DTP protocol to negotiate aggregation links between switches automatically. Multiple spanning tree (MSTP) handles redundant topologies without creating a loop.
What protections does this switch apply to wall outlets?
DHCP snooping, 802.1X authentication and broadcast storm control. A DHCP server plugged into an outlet by mistake is blocked, and an unauthenticated computer stays off the network.
How is management access secured?
Through SSH, with RADIUS or TACACS+ authentication, and through web access protected by SSL and HTTPS. Monitoring is handled by SNMP v1, v2c and v3, with RMON groups and Syslog logging.
Is this Catalyst IPv6-ready?
Yes, IPv6 is supported, alongside IGMP snooping for multicast and 802.3ad (LACP) link aggregation. LLDP (802.1ab) neighbour discovery makes it easier to map the network.
What is the power consumption of this switch?
