What makes the Aten PRO 3000 suitable for a dusty room?
Its circuit boards are conformal-coated: a coating protects the electronics against dust, humidity and corrosive fumes. This is what allows it to hold up in a workshop, a warehouse or a non-air-conditioned room, where an ordinary UPS deteriorates.
How long does the Aten PRO 3000 last on battery?
About 10 minutes at 50% load, i.e. 1350 W. Its internal batteries are high-rate discharge HR09122F units, designed to deliver a lot of energy over a short time — so for heavy loads rather than long outages.
What input voltage does the Aten PRO 3000 accept?
180 to 280 V at full load, and from 120 V at half load. These two ranges are not interchangeable: the more heavily the UPS is loaded, the narrower the tolerance. The input is also fitted with power factor correction.
Is the transfer time really zero?
Yes: the switchover from mains to the UPS happens instantly, with no interruption. The double-conversion architecture provides tight voltage and frequency regulation, and delivers a pure sine wave with no harmonic distortion or electrical noise.
Can the Aten PRO 3000 be used with a generator?
Yes: it compensates for both frequency and voltage fluctuations when connected to a generator, and keeps supplying clean power without interruption. A decisive point where the grid often cuts out.
What efficiency does the Aten PRO 3000 reach?
Up to 95% in eco mode, where the double-conversion stages are bypassed, and 88% in battery mode. Eco mode reduces power consumption, but also the heat given off — which extends the life of the internal batteries.
What does the Aten PRO 3000's display show?
A backlit colour graphic LCD screen shows the UPS status at a glance, and also provides diagnostic information and a log: enough to identify a power problem before it damages your equipment.
How do you monitor the Aten PRO 3000 remotely?
Through an intelligent slot that accepts an optional SNMP or Wi-Fi card, and through an RS-232 port with the ViewPower software. The USB HID port, for its part, is used for automatic shutdown of a NAS or server.
Why does 3000 VA give only 2700 W?
The power factor is 0.9: 3000 × 0.9 = 2700 W actually available — almost all of the apparent power. The output voltage can also be set to 200, 208, 220, 230 or 240 V.
How much space does the Aten PRO 3000 take up, and is it noisy?
421 × 190 × 318 mm and 27.6 kg, in a tower format with full front access. It is rated at less than 50 dB: reasonable for a 3000 VA double-conversion unit, but it stands on the floor, not on a piece of furniture.
Is the nJoy Aten PRO 3000 UPS new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. It features cold start and an internal bypass, and connects via a C14 inlet, with four Schuko outlets on the output.
