Frequently asked questions about this product

Does this 9PX 3000 really deliver 3000 W?
Yes: the power factor is 1, so the full 3000 VA is available in watts. On a conventional UPS with a 0.7 power factor, only 2100 would remain — that is almost 900 W more equipment.
What outlets does the 9PX 3000 RT2U have?
Eight C13 outlets and two heavy-duty 16 A C19 outlets, with a C20 input. The input cable and two IEC output cords are supplied.
Can the 9PX 3000 RT2U be installed in a rack or as a tower?
Both, with the brackets supplied: two 19-inch mounting brackets, two universal rails and two stands for upright installation, plus a cable locking system. Allow for 2U and 605 mm of depth.
What voltage and frequency range does the 9PX 3000 accept?
From 176 to 276 V, over a frequency range of 40 to 70 Hz with automatic 50/60 Hz selection. This wide range lets it run behind an irregular power source without drawing on the battery.
Is the output of the 9PX 3000 a pure sine wave?
Yes, the output is a pure sine wave, continuously rebuilt by double conversion. That is what the power-factor-corrected power supplies in servers require.
How do you connect the 9PX 3000 to a monitoring system or a server?
Via a USB port, an RS-232 serial port and three mini terminal blocks — remote on/off, remote power off and output relay. A slot accepts a Network-MS, ModBus-MS or Relay-MS card.
Is a 3000 VA double-conversion UPS noisy?
This one stays below 40 dBA, which is low for this power rating and this topology. Allow for 27.6 kg: rack mounting takes two people, at the bottom of the cabinet.
Is the Eaton 9PX 3000 RT2U (9PX3000IRT2U) new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. It shows its status on a multilingual graphic LCD screen, and its battery runtime can be extended with an EBM 2U external module.
