Convertible: 2U rack or tower mounting, brackets included
A high-end online UPS, convertible between rack and tower: online double conversion, 3000 VA / 3000 W, 2U format. Technology & protection: power is fully and continuously regenerated — your servers are never exposed to the mains, with zero transfer time. Complete protection against outages, surges, voltage fluctuations and electrical noise. Power: 3000 VA for 3000 W of real power — its power factor of 1 makes all of the rated power available in watts. Runtime: about 9 minutes at half load (1500 W); extendable with additional battery modules. Outlets: 8 C13 outlets + 2 heavy-duty C19 outlets for power-hungry equipment. Management: USB port and RS-232 serial port for automatic shutdown; slot for an SNMP network card. Graphical LCD display to monitor the UPS. Low-noise operation (under 40 dB). Ideal, for example, for servers, storage or network equipment. Remember to check how much power your equipment draws and to choose the rating according to the runtime you need.

Frequently asked questions about this product
How long does the 9PX 3000 run on battery?
9 minutes 30 seconds at half load, i.e. 1500 W. The runtime can be extended with up to four additional battery modules, hot-swappable: so you choose it at purchase, then top it up later.
Is the network management card supplied with the 9PX 3000?
Yes, the network management card is in the box, along with the input cable, two IEC output cords, a USB cable, a serial cable, the rack and tower mounting brackets and the cable locking system.
Does this 3000 VA unit really deliver 3000 W?
Yes: the power factor is 1, so the full 3000 VA is available in watts. On a UPS at 0.9, only 2700 would be left; at 0.6, just 1800. It is this figure in watts that determines what the rack can carry.
Which outlets does the 9PX 3000 have, on the input and output sides?
On the output side, eight C13 outlets and two heavy-duty 16 A C19 outlets for power-hungry equipment. On the input side, a C20 inlet, also heavy-duty: this is not an ordinary computer power cord.
Can some equipment be shut down before the rest during a power cut?
Yes: two controllable outlet groups let you switch off secondary equipment first and keep the battery for critical machines. On a 3000 VA unit, this can double the useful backup time.
How much rack space does the 9PX 3000 take up?
2U high, 440 mm wide and 605 mm deep, and 27.6 kg. This depth is the point to check on a shallow cabinet; the rack and tower mounting brackets are supplied.
Does power still get through if the UPS fails?
Yes, an internal bypass keeps the equipment powered even if the UPS fails. This is what prevents a UPS failure from becoming a failure of the whole rack.
Is a 3000 VA double-conversion UPS noisy?
This one stays below 40 dBA, which is low for this power and this topology. It can therefore stay in an occupied room, provided it is given the ventilation it needs.
Is the Eaton 9PX 3000 (9PX3000IRTN) new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. It accepts an input of 176 to 276 V at 50 or 60 Hz, auto-selected, delivers a pure sine wave and displays its status on a multilingual graphical LCD screen. The datasheet covers the rest.
A maintenance bypass supplied as standard allows the UPS to be replaced without shutting down the equipment it powers. Around 15 minutes of runtime at half load (4 000 W), extendable with four battery cabinets.
•Around 15 minutes of runtime at half load (4 000 W)
•Runtime extendable with one to four external battery cabinets
•Internal bypass and maintenance bypass as standard
Four U in a rack and a battery recharged in 3 hours: it is ready to go again quickly after a cut. Around 11 minutes of runtime at half load (3000 W) and 7 minutes at 70%.
Built-in network card: monitoring and control happen remotely, from the company network. 1980 W genuinely available and ten output sockets, two of them reinforced 16 A, in a chassis meant for the rack.
For a whole infrastructure: 9 minutes of runtime at half load (5000 W) and 5 minutes at 70%, the time it takes to switch over to a generator. 94% efficiency at full load and internal bypass.
All the power available in watts: 10,000 W usable, as many as the VA. Around 7 minutes of runtime at half load (5000 W) to shut down a full rack cleanly, in only 4U.
Twenty minutes of runtime at half load (2 400 W), extended to several hours with up to four external battery cabinets. The standard maintenance bypass allows the unit to be swapped without shutting down the equipment.
•Around 20 minutes of runtime at half load (2 400 W)
•Runtime extendable with one to four external battery cabinets
Every outlet is battery-backed, with around 11 minutes of runtime at half load (990 W). Automatic and manual internal bypass, LCD screen and a detachable 2.44 m cord supplied.
Floor-standing, 68.5 cm high and 54 kg: the tower version, for when there is no rack. Around 11 minutes of runtime at half load (3000 W) and 94% efficiency at full load.
Three reinforced 16 A outlets for power-hungry hardware, eight server outlets, and batteries that are changed without cutting the power. Under 40 dB at one metre, in a rack as in a tower.
•8 C13 outlets: the format of computer and server power cords
Doubling the runtime comes down to one extra battery cabinet: 9 minutes at half load become 23 minutes. The 16 12 V batteries are chosen and ordered separately.
