Frequently asked questions about this product

How many ports on the ZyXEL GS1915-8EP supply PoE+?
All eight, all PoE+ 802.3at, up to 30 W per port, within a total budget of 60 W. You can plug a camera into any socket, provided you share the power out between the devices.
Can this switch be managed from the cloud or locally?
Both, thanks to NebulaFlex: standalone through the switch's web interface, or from the Nebula Control Center to manage several sites from one place. You can change the mode as your needs dictate.
What can you configure on this 8-port switch?
VLANs, quality of service and SNMP monitoring, on a smart managed model. You can therefore isolate the cameras in their own VLAN and monitor the status of each powered port.
How much power should you allow for this switch?
72 W maximum, once the 60 W of PoE is being delivered. It is this figure, not the consumption of the switch alone, that is used to size the UPS for the small equipment room.
Can the GS1915-8EP be rack-mounted?
No: it is not rack-mountable. The unit measures 250 × 104 × 27 mm and weighs 620 g, and sits on a shelf, in a network closet or at the back of a patch cabinet.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. This is the ZyXEL GS1915-8EP, reference GS1915-8EP-EU0101F, IPv6 compatible.
